Terms of Service

Last updated: 22 February 2026

Important — please read

CareProof tells you if and when care visits happen. It does not assess the quality of care provided. If you have concerns about the quality of care someone is receiving, please contact your local authority safeguarding team or the Care Quality Commission (CQC).

1. What CareProof is

CareProof is an independent care visit verification service for families. It records when carers check in and out of a care recipient's home using GPS location data and QR code scanning, giving you a transparent record of visit times.

CareProof does not provide care services, does not employ carers, and is not a care agency. We are a technology service that helps families monitor whether scheduled visits are taking place.

2. Your account

  • You must be 18 years of age or over to create an account.
  • You must provide accurate and complete information when registering.
  • You are responsible for keeping your account credentials secure.
  • Accounts are for individual use and must not be shared with others.

3. Subscription and billing

CareProof offers a 14-day free trial with no payment card required. After the trial, the Standard plan costs £9.99 per month, billed monthly via Stripe.

  • You can cancel your subscription at any time through the app settings.
  • Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period.
  • We do not offer refunds for partial months.
  • After cancellation, your data is retained for 12 months and then permanently deleted unless you request earlier deletion.

4. Acceptable use

CareProof is for personal family use to monitor care visits at a registered address. You must not:

  • Use the service to harass, stalk, or unlawfully monitor any person.
  • Attempt to reverse-engineer, scrape, or abuse the service.
  • Use the service for any purpose other than verifying care visits at properties you manage.

5. Carer consent and check-in links

By sharing a check-in link or QR code with a carer or care agency, you confirm that you have a legitimate interest in verifying care visits at the registered address. We recommend informing the care agency that an independent verification system is in use.

6. Data and privacy

How we collect, use, and protect your data is explained in our Privacy Policy. By using CareProof, you acknowledge that you have read and understood that policy.

7. Limitation of liability

CareProof is provided on an “as is” basis. While we work hard to keep the service reliable, we do not guarantee:

  • Uninterrupted or error-free service.
  • The accuracy of GPS location data.
  • That all visits will be detected or recorded.

CareProof is not liable for any decisions made based on visit data. It is not a substitute for direct communication with care agencies or safeguarding authorities.

8. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time and will notify you by email when we do. Continued use of CareProof after notification constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.

9. Governing law

These terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of England and Wales.
